Shabbat Eve in the Home

On the Eve of Shabbat, after service, before the beginning​ of the meal, the sanctity of the Sabbath is proclaimed over a cup of wine or grape juice. This ritual is called Kiddūsh (sanctification).  Below is a YouTube link that contains the words, transliteration, and translation of the Kiddūsh for Friday evenings. The recorded melody is customary among Spanish-and-Portuguese (Western Sephardi) Jews, although within this community there are several local variations.
