Throughout history, people have thought that a nation’s military victories were proof that God was on the side of that particular people. On the other hand, if a certain group lost their battles, and let alone their sovereignty, this meant that God had forsaken them. In 1983, a Dutch reggae band mocked this attitude in a song called “The Right Side Won”.
