Ḥasidism
The picture above shows the Rebbe of the Dzirka Hasidim. On the right is one of his daughters, Malki, who happens to be one of my former students and who has left the movement. She grew up in Jerusalem in a very closed Hasidic community. The Dzirka Hasidim are staunchly anti-Zionists and against the State of Israel. Malki told me that, when she was young, on Israel's Day of Independence, she and the other children were to stay indoors and were told to cry because of the Zionist disaster (the State of Israel) that had befallen the Jewish people.
